Hibernians winger Joseph Mbong has been ruled of this weekend’s Premier League clash against Birkirkara as he was one of five players sanctioned by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner, yesterday.

Mbong was shown the red card by referee Matthew Degabriele for a second bookable offence during the second half of last week’s 1-0 win over St Andrew’s at the Tedesco Stadium.

The Malta U-21 international will be unavailable for the Paolites on Sunday to serve a one-match ban.

Floriana will be without Enrico Pepe for their match against Gżira United tomorrow as the Italian defender was also handed a one-match suspension after picking a fourth yellow card in the Greens’ 1-0 win over Mosta.

The Maroons will be hoping regular goalkeeper Jurgen Borg declares himself fit for the match as his understudy, Jamie Azzopardi, has been suspended after his dismissal in the team’s 7-1 defeat to Birkirkara.

Sliema Wanderers will have to do without Peter Xuereb and Mosta will be without Kurt Magro when the two teams face each on Sunday. Yesterday, both midfielders were handed a one-match ban.
