Valletta will have Claudio Pani unavailable for Saturday’s big match against Birkirkara at the National Stadium as the Italian midfielder will be out to serve a one-match ban.

Yesterday, the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner issued a list of suspended players – six in all – following the latest round of matches from the BOV Premier League.

Pani collected his fourth booking in the one-all draw against Gżira United as second-placed Valletta slipped to four points behind league leaders Hibernians in the race for the title.

The other players suspended one match are Luke Sciberras (Ħamrun), Kurt Zammit (Tarxien), Yenz Cini (Mosta), Juan Carlos Corbalan (Gżira) and Tonci Radovnikovic (Pembroke).
