A panel discussion on Valletta 2018 and Tourism will be held tomorrow at 6pm in Lecture Theatre 2 at the University of Malta.

In 2018, Valletta will be the European Capital of Culture. The panel will discuss whether V18 is a publicity stunt or an opportunity for strategic tourism development.

Could an internationally-oriented culture event be a catalyst for regeneration? What lessons can be learnt from other countries on tourism and major cultural events?

These and other questions will be answered by a panel of academics and practitioners.

The public is invited to attend this event, organised by the University’s Institute for Tourism, Travel and Culture.
