In a letter that appeared on The Times on July 31, I wrote that the palm tree in Gort Street, St Julian’s, needed urgent pruning.

I had written because, as usual, the local council did not follow up my complaint, which I first made on May 9 and the situation had reached the stage where I was unable to even open or close my window.

I, therefore, decided to go to the council once again and inform them of this.

As it happened, councillor Tony Grech overheard me and offered to help. This he did.

I am pleased to record that the next day the tree was pruned.

Thank you.
