A documentary portraying the political story of Sarah Palin debuted last Friday in a handful of US theatres, as the right-wing conservative darling remains on the fence about whether she’ll enter the 2012 Presidential race. The Undefeated, di-rected by Stephen Bannon, des-cribes Ms Palin through interviews with her admirers and supporters, according to media sources that have seen the film.

Mr Bannon, a conservative who does not hide his admiration for Ms Palin, personally financed the million-dollar film.

“This film is a call to action for a campaign like 1976: Reagan vs the establishment. Let’s have a good old-fashioned brouhaha,” Mr Bannon said recently during an interview published on the website Real Clear Politics. As viewers watch scenes from her time as a mayor and governor of Alaska to the moment she was tapped as John McCain’s vice presidential running mate in the last presidential election, Ms Palin is not directly interviewed in the film, though she does narrate some scenes.

The Hollywood Reporter decribes the opening minutes as a montage of clips in which movie stars such as Matt Damon, Madonna and David Letterman insult or discredit Palin.
