A Bulgarian couple were conditionally discharged for two years after they admitted stealing clothes from several Paola shops on Wednesday.

Kalina Katelieva, 31, and Dimitrov Dimitar Svilenov, 35, who live in Birżebbuġa and have a son together, admitted taking clothes from Eurosport, Debenhams and Pull and Bear on Wednesday at about 5.15pm.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke said she was aware the couple had a low income but this did not justify theft.
