The Halloween festival is with us. Little boys and girls, and even adults put on masks and dress up as devils, goblins, witches, black cats and vampires to personify evil spirits which – as the pagan Celts believed – would come to haunt people.

Such belief is foreign to our Christian faith. According to the Diocesan Commission on Occult and Satanism, those who really want to take their Catholic faith seriously cannot celebrate Halloween. Even when it is superficially celebrated the Halloween festival opens those who celebrate it to a neo-pagan culture as well as to the culture of occult.
