On the occasion of Workers’ Day, May 1, the PN issued a statement appealing to the Government “to fight precarious employment”.

The fact is that the PL had promised to fight precarious employment tooth and nail in the past, and also did so in its electoral manifesto, while already announcing its determination to eradicate this modern form of slavery.

On the other hand, the PN in government not only failed to fight precarious employment but actually encouraged it when awarding tenders to contractors for which not even the minimum wage could be paid.

This fact had been revealed by both the PL, then in opposition, as well as trade unions. But the PN government simply decided to ignore their pleas on behalf of thousands of workers who are in precarious jobs.

Hypocrisy is too mild a word to suit them.
