If the PN intends  keeping the environment as its main prong in the fight for votes in the next election, I am afraid that it will indeed be wasting precious time and energy; there are so many valid and precious issues that the PN should hammer on from now to election time.

Quite a few issues were handed to the PN on a silver platter by the leader of the Labour Party  himself: the Café Premier issue; the numerous appointments to positions of trust; the Gaffarena debacle, which in my opinion should send ripples to the date of the election; the failure to reduce fuel prices (of course this will be dealt with on the eve of the election); the failure to inform the Marsaxlokk residents of the dangers they are about to face when the gas tanker takes its place in the harbour.  There are of course other considerations to be taken into account.

The PN, I think, has not yet understood the PL’s language: this was clearly explained to the Maltese in general by Joe Debono Grech in Parliament when he aggressively addressed Marlene Farrugia – that is Labour language.

I am hopeful that the PN has not forgotten the dismal performance of the then minister Manuel Mallia and the horrible structure put up in Hay Wharf, which was highly praised by the minister who took over from Mallia.

The PN can build a generous programme on the very disappointing performance of today’s government which promised quite a lot but unfortunately for Malta, produced exactly the opposite.

I think that the PN can bring back some of those who went over to Labour in the last election, but I do not think that the environment should be the priority –by that time the developers would have had their fill and the PN would hardly have any ODZ land to offer!
