Eight months after being elected to government, Labour’s promised road map on job creation in Gozo was nowhere to be seen, PN leader Simon Busuttil said yesterday.

Addressing a political activity at the PN club in Nadur, Dr Busuttil said that so far the Labour government only made headlines for the wrong reasons.

He referred to a number of controversies surrounding the Gozo Minister, including his €830,000 loan and the incident involving a Gozo Channel ferry that was ordered back to pick up passengers, including the minister.

Dr Busuttil said the Gozo Ministry was more interested in serving those within its inner circles than keeping its electoral pledges.

The PN was bound to expose the “deceitful manner” in which the PL persuaded Gozitans to vote Labour in the last general election.

He added that May’s European Parliament elections will be the first opportunity for Gozitans to convey a clear message to the government.

The administration had failed to safeguard the country’s identity and to create jobs, and stooped to the lowest levels of governance. During the political activity, PN general secretary Chris Said announced amendments to the party’s statute will be discussed during an extraordinary general council in January.

From February, all Gozo localities will again have a sectional PN committee, as they had a few years ago.
