The PN councillors who generally try to have the feedback from people before voting have recently elected Mario de Marco and Beppe Fenech Adami as deputy leaders.

This has prompted some commentators – today still benefiting from the Fenech Adami and De Marco accomplishments for all – to refer to this situation as a dynasty. Now a dynasty means having members of the same family, line or group maintaining power for many years as opposed to being freely elected.

Here the people can judge. Can one refer to the above-mentioned situation as a dynasty? Or are we experiencing the start of the real dynasty composed of a group of appointed persons of the likes of those transferred “from billboards to boards”, with attractive salaries and benefits, led by josephmuscat.com?

The role of the Opposition is even more crucial than ever given this reality. The Team PN responsibility includes the task of eventually restoring to the people the reverse of “practically zero meritocracy” that will guarantee tangible results – the hallmark of PN administrations.
