Nationalist Party deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami yesterday left the London hospital where he underwent an operation on Monday to remove a malignant tumour from his back.
Dr Fenech Adami would be staying in London for a few days to continue his recovery before returning to Malta, his sister, Maria Cassar, said.
The operation took four-and-a-half-hours and surgeons said they were satisfied with the outcome of the surgery that sought to remove the 15cm tumour.
Dr Fenech Adami, the 45-year-old son of President Emeritus and former Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami, was diagnosed with the tumour in July and has since undergone an intensive radiotherapy treatment.
He has spoken openly about his treatment process and often thanked the public for their prayers and support.
