The Prime Minister yesterday said he was abiding by the Speaker’s ruling on Monday about the words he had used in relation to former Finance Minister Tonio Fenech.

Opposition Whip David Agius asked if, given the Speaker’s ruling, Dr Muscat was now ready to withdraw his “unhappy choice of words”, as described by Speaker Anġlu Farrugia.

The Speaker interrupted to say that his ruling had been given and there was nothing more to add to it.

Dr Muscat said he was abiding by the Speaker’s ruling and looking forward to getting on with the business of the House, replying to questions he had been asked at the end of his ministerial statement about the latest EU summit.
