Reference is made to the letter PM, Air Malta And Libya by Peter Murray (December 2) regarding the talks in Libya following an invitation by the Libyan government.

Unfortunately, notwithstanding the Prime Minister’s request, it was not possible for Air Malta to start its operations by November 27, which was the date when the first meeting was scheduled to be held with the Deputy Prime Minister of Libya. There was therefore no other option but to use an alternative carrier.

Meetings were held both in Tripoli and Misurata, thus requiring the need for a local trip between the two cities. Furthermore, Air Malta does not operate from Misurata.
