Evidently, Joseph Muscat and the Labour Party are running out of steam.

They have now confirmed that the Budget as presented by the Government is good for the country, so much so that they undertake to adopt it should they be in government.

This is a clear admission that the Government’s handling of the country’s economy is sound and deserves to be followed through in future.

But what has happened to Labour roadmap? From the ifs and buts uttered by Labour’s would-be ministers it appears that their roadmap leads nowhere, the reason being that they are so shorn of ideas that they have had to adopt the Nationalists’ policies.

With the forthcoming general election in sight, the Labour stalwarts are panicking as they are unable bring about the much vaunted change.

All they can do is follow the ‘right’ policies of the Nationalist government, thereby endorsing the benefits to the country generated by successive Nationalist administrations since1987.

It is clear therefore that the country needs a continuation of the present policies, and the discerning electorate is coming to the conclusion that to progress further the country must return a fresh Nationalist government.

Meanwhile, all the Labour Party can do is to continue riding piggy-back on Franco Debono, who, as a matter of pique, continues to give them a ride. Does that constitute an alternative government?
