The state broadcaster said it had not been informed that Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil had a phone interview on party-owned Radio 101 last Sunday.

Replying to an official complaint by the party, Public Broadcasting Services head of news Reno Bugeja said the party did not even issue a press release on what had been said, as was usually the case.

On Tuesday, the party filed a complaint that the national broadcaster had failed to cover Dr Busuttil’s interview and another with general secretary Chris Said.

However, PBS said it covered the political activities of party leaders or, in their absence, their deputies.
