Between 2001 and 2010 there were 3,255 women who had babies they declared to be by unknown father, Communications Minister Austin Gatt told Anthony Agius Decelis (PL) in reply to a parliamentary question. The numbers each year ranged from 303 in 2001 to 368 in 2008. At 264 the number of cases in 2010 was the lowest for the decade.
