In the first three months of this year the Office of the Prime Minister spent a total of €169,486 on consultancy fees, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi told Parliament yesterday.

He was answering a question by Labour MP Anthony Agius Decelis.

The greatest expenditure was €106,764 for the Malta Council for Science and Technology. The rest were broken down into €23,297 for the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, €16,721 for the Office of Human Resources in Public Administration, €9,878 for the Management Efficiency Unit, €4,517 for the Armed Forces of Malta, €4,319 for the EU Funds Office, €3,205 for the Malta Broadcasting Authority and €785 for the Corporate Services Directorate.
