During the month of November, we commemorate our dear departed.

Our Lord revealed to St Gertrude the Great a prayer, thanks to which 1,000 souls are freed from purgatory each time it is said. By time, the prayer came to include living sinners too.

Here it is:

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Thy divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.”

How can I not love those who are far away from God or are suffering in purgatory by praying for them?
