May 13 was the 99th anniversary of Our Lady’s first apparition to the three children of Fatima. From May to October of that year, 1917, Our Lady appeared six times to these simple but saintly children. During her last apparition in October the Miracle of the Sun occurred, which was witnessed by many thousands of awestruck people.

In each of her six apparitions the Virgin Mary called on the children, and through them all the faithful, to recite the rosary every day to obtain peace for the world. In today’s troubled world, Our Lady’s words are as important as ever.
