On a cold and windy day, Mosta parish church is not exactly the right place for an organ recital by Diego Cannazzaro, especially for the sparse attendance in this large rotunda.

But thanks to Cannazzaro and with his selections, he really warmed us up and most probably there was no single pipe or keyboard  that he did not utilise. With the help of Robert Buhagiar, the restorer of this magnificent organ, we were able to appreciate the potential of this organ. It’s been a long time since we heard such music being rendered.

Thanks also to Joe Lia, the organiser of this festival, for bringing over Cannazzaro and hopefully he will again include Mosta parish church for next year’s festival. It would be appreciated if a big screen is available for the audience to truly experience what goes on while the organist is manoeuvring this great organ.
