Asthma sufferers can get a better idea of how well they control the condition through a new online test that also helps determine the best medication strategies for the individual.

The international Asthma Control Test, which consists of five questions, was designed by medical asthma experts and was scientifically tested on hundreds of asthmatics.

The test is free at asthmacontroltest.com. Results should be discussed with a doctor to contribute to an effective treatment plan.

Malta has one of the highest incidences of asthma in Europe. About nine per cent of the population suffer from the condition – a chronic inflammation of the lung airways that causes coughing, chest tightness, wheezing or shortness of breath.
