Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca was sworn in as President last Friday but the office’s official website still featured George Abela as head of state yesterday morning.

And, yet, this erroneously stated that her nomination marked “another development in the constitutional history of Malta”, adding that “for the first time, the President was elected with the unanimous approval of all members of Parliament” – which was the case with Dr Abela.
