The generous initiative by local artists to help send 15 boys from St Joseph’s Home to go on holiday, has reached its target.

The auction ran for a whole month and ended last Tuesday. Bids on various works of art raised over €8,000 and an additional €2,000 were donated by various generous benefactors.

“We are now right on target,” explained organiser Alison Bezzina.

“All we need is a little bit more funds to send a couple of carers and for the boys to have some spending money.”

An attempt to raise the rest of the funds will take place on Saturday during a Spinning Marathon at Living Well – Hilton Malta.

The marathon will consist of three consecutive spinning classes, starting at 8.15am, 9.30am and 10.45am.

The classes will be an hour-long each and will be team-taught by qualified spinning instructors Celine Fenech Adami, Tania Cluett and Suzanne Grima.

“Spinning is a special form of indoor cycling which has become very popular in Malta and all over the world,” explained the instructors.

“The marathon will carry a summer theme, including summer music and fresh gym décor. Spinners will also be treated to a free Gatorade, a power bar and a healthy good time.”

Participation in the spinning marathon is against a minimum donation of €5 per class, and members and non-members of Living Well Hilton are welcome to join.
