My daughter arrived in Valletta at 7 p.m. and asked at what time was the last bus to Għargħur scheduled to leave that evening.

She was told at 10.35 p.m. By 10.45, the Arriva supervisor at Valletta poked fun at my daughter saying that there was no way that the bus to Għargħur was going to turn up. By 10.50, all buses had nearly left and she had to get the bus to Naxxar.

As readers of this column may be aware, this is not the first time I have written to complain about the service to Għargħur and never have Arriva satisfactorily replied other than through a pathetic standard reply that is more akin to an insult than an apology.

The situation in Għargħur has not improved at all and Arriva’s attitude is simply appalling. I also blame the state for being utterly toothless and incapable of sorting this out.
