I have been living at Sannat since long before its local council was born. I have been following its turbulent times from its beginning. It is evident now that the present mayor is a competent, hard worker.

The mayor, Philip Vella, is contributing so much towards the beautiful village of Sannat. He is promoting creativity and multi-culturalism. Mr Vella has already proved that if he has the tools and the right supportive councillors in his team, he will certainly perform other giant leaps towards the common good of the people at Sannat.

I must say a big well done and a big thank you to Mr Vella for the great success of the Notte Scarlatta. It is an activity which is becoming a popular annual event in the calendar of Sannat. The Notte Scarlatta was a truly beehive of activities during the two festive days. Meanwhile, the villagers of Sannat joyfully participated.

Ironically, it was noted that other councillors did not make an appearance to help during these two hectic days. I heard people saying that it was a shame they did not give a helping hand to the busy and exhausted mayor who was left all alone, orchestrating this big manifestation.

This type of councillor should be sidelined by both political parties in the coming local council election. It is a pity that they are of no help to the village of Sannat. Strictly speaking, there should be a better choice of prospective candidates from both political parties to contest the next local council election in Sannat.
