Drivers caught using their mobile phones while at the wheel should not be shown any sympathy. In fact, new stiff laws should be introduced for the ever-increasing number of offenders who constantly break the law and get away with it.
Last year, a lorry driver in the UK caused the death of four people in a crash while he was using his mobile phone. Italian DJ Fabiano Antoniani who was left tetraplegic by an accident he had in 2014 while trying to retrieve his mobile phone after it fell near his feet while driving killed himself at the Dignitas clinic in Switzerland.
The temptation is too high to instantly answer the phone while driving. Drivers can even be seen going round a corner with one hand on the wheel and the other holding the phone to their ears.
There's only one way of eliminating this danger on our roads and that's by introducing the penalty points system whereby drivers could eventually even lose their licence.
