Does the mayor of Birkirkara, Joanne Debono Grech, ever visit the locality by car? Or does she have some other means of transport? The road leading to and from the local council office was last week pitted with deep potholes for days on end. Meanwhile, the paved area in front of the locality’s old church, which featured in this column because of the holes there, was seen to last week. The potholes were filled with a concrete mixture! Is this how paved areas in the locality will be patched up? The end result is atrocious.

Rubbish tip

This photo was taken in Sliema at 10 on a Monday morning. However, rubbish is not collected before 7pm. Action should be taken, especially with summer now being so close.

Hazardous pavements

Also in Sliema, the roads and pavements leave much to be desired. Who is responsible for this state of affairs? Is it the local council? If so, it should pull its socks up and get down to business.

Complete arrogance

It is unacceptable that some users of the MCP car park, in Floriana leave their vehicle anywhere they desire, notwithstanding notices to park within the yellow boxes. A BMW owner does this regularly, often parking as close to the lifts as possible.
