The cover of a hole in the ground, which obviously is there for a purpose, has been broken for a long time. It is close to where one can catch the bus to the airport from the Valletta station. An unsuspecting passer-by or a commuter could easily have a nasty accident. Does it take that much to do something about it and remove the danger?

Everyday occurrence

Residents’ garages in Mosta Road, St Paul’s Bay, are constantly being blocked by cars and trucks making use of the Chefs Choice outlet. Residents find it hard to get in and out of their property.

Go’s lack of service

Customers at Go’s Birkirkara service outlet were made to wait for more than an hour to be served on a couple of days last week. Most of the time only two counters were manned. Shouldn’t all four counters be manned especially at this time of the year?

Lost sheep

The priest in charge of St Paul Shipwreck church, in Valletta, has decided that the 12.40pm Mass on weekdays should be discontinued. Now it is true that the congregation is not exactly sizeable but did the good Shepherd not leave 99 sheep unattended to look for the single lost one? Will the Church be basing its decisions on quantity? If so, many Masses are likely to be stopped and church/chapels closed given the dwindling number of church-goers.

Unsightly rubbish

Rubbish is regularly left at the Surfside area of Sliema in the hope that a storm will carry it out to sea. This has been reported to the local council before but nobody seems to care.

Permanent feature

Many are rightly not amused by the fact that work on the new Parliament building has been going on for so long, with one delay following another and people passing the buck and pointing fingers at each other. But a few metres away, at the entrance to the Central Bank of Malta annexe, heavy machinery seems to have become a permanent feature. What work is being done there and who is responsible for it? A public explanation would be in order.
