A few Mondays ago, a call was made through these columns for the authorities to ensure that some order is brought into the traffic chaos caused by the double-decker buses and coaches on Ġlormu Cassar Avenue, Valletta. Yet, the chaotic situation persists.

Coaches should not be allowed to stop in the middle of the road and should either drive on until a slot is available or else another drop-off point is found closer to City Gate.

Pole positioned

A lamp post, somehow – whether by accident or purposely – was dislodged from its position and ended up resting against a wall in Paceville, close to the beach and a restaurant.

The matter might have been rectified by now but, given that this is a prime site, it should have never been allowed.

Is this eco Gozo?

The bring-in site in Għajn Mħelel Street, Żebbuġ, Gozo, seems to be getting bigger every day. A few weeks ago, another such site closer to the cemetery was closed for good. However, it now appears that a new illegal rubbish site has taken over. Is anybody ever fined for littering? The local council should consider installing cameras in the area to stop illegal dumping taking place in this idyllic spot frequented by many tourists.

Bad example

Police cars are being parked near the Sliema station in such a way that pedestrians using the pavement in Rudolph Street would be forced to go on to the busy road there. The police should lead by example and ensure safe passage to pedestrians using pavements.
