This house in Valley Road in Msida was encircled by a low wall after being condemned. In September 2012, the wall collapsed following a rainstorm and it has remained as is. Apart from posing a danger to people, the property is steadily accumulating rubbish dumped by people. The local council said they could only warn the owners since this is a private property. However, more needs to be done as soon as possible.

Rubbish overload...

It seems like rubbish in Marsalforn is not being collected regularly. Some bins remain for a week or more without collection, giving the place a feel of abandonment. It also shows a lack of concern for the locals and tourists. The building works that only started in mid-July on the Qbajjar promenade add to the feeling of real neglect.

... and bin danger

Meanwhile the bins on the pavement along Shipwreck Promenade in Xemxija, while clean, are still very dangerous to pedestrians, especially elderly people and children. Due to the narrowness of the pavement they have to walk on the street, which in turn is full of potholes. In this dimly lit part of Xemxija, anyone can have a nasty accident because of the lack of common sense of whoever decided to have them placed here.

Cycling in the fast lane

Cycling in Malta is being encouraged, also as a means to curb obesity. However, cyclists should know better than to ride their bikes on the fast lane, as this cyclist was caught doing on the Pietà seafront. He is not only posing a danger to himself but also to other drivers.
