Who decided to set up a festa pole bang in the middle of the stairs leading to the side entrance to St John’s Co-Cathedral, in Valletta? One does not need a University degree to realise that it should never have been allowed there.
Is July in summer?
Two elderly Mellieħa residents decided to use the buses to get to Buġibba and back. They bought a return ticket. At about 11pm, they made their way to the terminus to catch the Mellieħa bus home. There were no buses. They had stopped at 10. The dispatcher informed them that the Buġibba buses had not reverted to the summer timetable yet. Presumably, July no longer counts as a summer month.
What about health and safety?
Over the last couple of weeks, demolition works started at the Special Needs School in St Louis Street, Msida. As the picture below clearly shows, these are being carried out with total disregard to on-site regulations required to carry out such works. Debris simply falls onto the pavement and there is no regard to the potential damage to cars parked below or to passers-by. Where are the relevant authorities?
Beach cleanliness
After the weekend, beachgoers leave the beautiful sandy bay of Għadira covered in rubbish, which is not cleared up and accumulates as the days go by. The rubbish bins there are small and , so, they are soon filled up with rubbish spilling onto the sand. More personnel and bins are evidently needed to clean it regularly. On the other hand, beachgoers should show more civic pride and dispose of their rubbish properly.
