There is a particular area in the heavily utilised St Andrew’s Road, Swieqi, right opposite the park-and-ride, that requires immediate attention by Transport Malta. The road at this point is caving in and is causing much inconvenience to drivers as well as residents. It would appear to be a minor job but which urgently requires attention in the general interest. Approaches by the local council have fallen on deaf ears.

Overflowing bins

The only three dust bins in Spinola Beach are frequently overflowing with rubbish, especially over the weekend. Isn’t it possible to get somebody to empty them on weekends? Most of the jablo containers and paperbags from surrounding outlets finish up in the sea. Larger bins are needed.

Privileged parking

Could Transport Malta explain on what grounds it has granted a permit for a yellow, disabled non-parking area in front of the property in Triq il-Fies, Attard (below)? None of the residents is disabled. The drive-in is not vehicle accessible. It would seem that the sign is only serving to ensure that nobody obstructs the occupants’ view from their gate onto the street. If this policy were to be universally applied, it would mean that nobody could park in front of anybody else’s front door across the whole of Malta.

No bright idea

Whose bright idea was it to place a skip on the pavement in St Paul Street, corner with Melita Street, Valletta? Pedestrians, let alone those with push chairs or wheelchairs, found it difficult to use the pavement and had to walk onto the middle of the road and oncoming traffic.
