Debris has been dumped illegally on a small plateau in Dwejra, limits of Mosta. This site is very popular because there is a spectacular view stretching from St Julian’s to Delimara, Chadwick Lakes and Rabat. However, this view has now been marred by irresponsible individuals. Can’t this area be rehabilitated and turned into a belvedere for the Maltese public and tourists to enjoy?

Sign to nowhere

There is a sign in April 23 Street, Qormi, denoting children going to school. However, there is no school in this road. The sign is obstructing the pavement, for anyone with a pushchair or in a wheelchair. Can someone remove this unnecessary sign?

Simplifying things

In this day and age of digitalisation, it is truly incomprehensible how an application form for an E111 card, duly signed, cannot be scanned and sent to the Entitlement Unit by e-mail rather than by post. The result is precisely the same. Instead of getting the form out of the envelope, all the government workers would have to do is right click and select print. The same concept applies to all other government departments. One hopes that the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Simplification of Processes and Reduction of Bureaucracy addresses these basics.

Dead end

The owner of a corner restaurant in Xlendi has managed to bring the pavement to a dead end. He has taken it up completely with tables and chairs, hardly leaving any space for pedestrians, who have to risk life and limb by taking to the middle of the road.

In the dark

Some of the street lights in the upper part of Triq i-Baħar l-Iswed went off at the end of last year. However, despite several reports to the local council they have still not been switched back on. Why?

Melita disservice

A service box belonging to Melita situated in Rose Street, Marsascala, has been open for almost two months. The constant banging of the metal doors when windy is bothering neighbours and attempts to contact the company have proved to be a long-winded, impossible mission. Melita please take note and lock it up.

Too hot to handle

Why are the authorities so lenient with those dog owners who do not clean after their pets? Is this why most of our roads and pavements are still a mess because of dog excrement? The pavement near the Aqueduct in the Mrieħel/ Birkirkara area is in a hideous state and it seems that street sweepers do not clean up the mess. This matter has in fact been brought to the attention of the local council a number of times, with no positive results.
