Trees and bushes in Notabile Road, Mrieħel, need trimming as they are a hazard to the pedestrians who frequent the area. Many use this road to avoid the main thoroughfare. Others use it to walk their dogs. The overhanging plant is full of big thorns which people do not see and are dangerous, especially to children.

Stranded passengers

Would Arriva, Transport Malta, Fgura local council or whoever plans new routes consider having buses leave Fgura at a given time from a fixed bus stop? Now that students are back at school and the number of buses is lower due to the bendy buses being pulled off the roads, it has become harder for Fgura residents to board any of the buses leaving Marsascala or Xgħajra because, by the time they reach the bus stops from Hompesch Gate all the way to Paola, they are usually full up.

Overhead danger

A large piece of membrane has been overhanging from a roof in St Paul Street, Valletta. Membrane is very heavy and God forbid were it to fall on to the road, especially if people are walking by. Strong winds could easily make that a reality.

Prize less

If you are told you have won a fabulous prize and you think it is too good to be true, then it probably is not true. A company has been calling people asking them to take part in a travel survey and then, within an hour or so, inform them they have won a holiday to any destination. The catch is the company only wants to lure people to their offices to sell them a service. The ‘prize’ is no more than bait.

Beauty spot blemish

One of the most picturesque areas in Malta – Tal-Virtù, in Rabat – is being tarnished by vandals. A lot of rubbish has been dumped there. The site needs a thorough clean-up immediately so the situation does not get out of hand.

Message in a sign

A sign at the recently-opened garden in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq has been vandalised, removing the word “No” from it. Also, the fountain at the same park is in dire need of a makeover even though it was only opened prior to the last general election.
