After all the publicity given that Arriva and Transport Malta will be updating their network and reintroducing routes to Valletta from all localities tomorrow, it seems that the residents living in the upper part of Sliema have been left without their old 63 bus route.

Before Arriva’s arrival last July, the 63 circular bus from Valletta used to drive through Msida, Rue D’Argens, Rudolphe Street, Dingli Street and along the Sliema front returning to Valletta via Ta’ Xbiex. It took less than 30 minutes to get from Valletta to Sliema, and it served many elderly residents and tourists living in and around the Imperial and other hotels. It was also convenient for patients/visitors to St James Hospital. As things stand it is too much of a hassle for the elderly to get to the upper part of Sliema from the Ferries and other bus stops along the seafront.

Hopefully, the old 63 bus route will be reintroduced.
