The Nationalist Party had to be a party of the people for the people, leadership contestant Raymond Bugeja.

Speaking at a meeting for party councillors, he said he was now convinced more than ever that important changes were needed within the party.

The PN needed to start a new chapter, he said, adding that the party had to be strong and act as a constructive opposition that scrutinised the Gvernment, communicated with the people and offered an alternative.
