Although a shelter for 10 horses at Valletta Waterfront has recently been erected, there are a vast majority of karozzin horses in all other localities still without the necessary shelters. Why is this long-standing problem still not solved as publicly promised by Minister George Pullicino? Was this said for propaganda purposes?
These animals have no respite from the sun, making their daily lives a misery. Where are the promised water points, which are an absolute necessity so these hard-working horses get water at regular intervals and not suffer further because of dehydration? It is now August and these animals are still pitiably seen all day long and on a daily basis under the scorching sun.
There surely can be no valid excuse to justify this delay, which is causing such unnecessary suffering
One must not forget the petition with about 8,000 signatures that was handed over to the Prime Minister.
The problem must be permanently solved as was promised to the public. Immediate action is now needed!
