November was warmer and drier than usual but saw the strongest winds ever recorded since 1947, according to the Met Office.

A cyclone arrived from the northwest by west on November 7, peaking at 64 knots.

The average wind speed for the rest of November was 7.9 knots, or 0.4 knots below average, mostly from the south southeast.

The warmest day last month was November 6 when the temperature reached 25.3°C and the coolest night was the 21st, at 12.8°C.

Overall, the average air temperature in November reached 18.9°C, making it 1.3°C warmer than the month’s average.

Malta International Airport recorded 88.6 mm of rainfall, which is 13.1 mm below the norm for November.

The highest rainfall recorded in November was 420.3 mm in 1999.

Only one day of fog was recorded and at 82 per cent the level of humidity last month was five per cent above the norm.
