Gozo Bishop Mario Grech has called on national media to feature the island more prominently.

“Today, for the national TV station to give news about Gozo it must be a tragedy, court news or some government activity,” he lamented, adding that to feature on the news Gozitans must either know a journalist from Malta or pay for the service.

Access to the media in today’s world was a right that should not be denied to the Gozitans, he said as he marked the feast of St Francis De Sales, the patron of writers and journalists, at the church of the Franciscan nuns in Victoria last Sunday.
