I recently visited the Gozo Citadel which was lately renovated with European Union funds.
This was undoubtedly an enormous project and I would like to make some suggestions and observations.
First of all, closing the main entrance facing the Cathedral with a metal shutter/door is really a disrespect to all those previous Leone Band Club committee members who strived against all the odds to open the fortress and give the cathedral the majestic view it deserved.
What really amazes me is that as far as I know nobody in Gozo, not even anyone from the Leone Band Cub, had the courage to criticise or disapprove this measure.
Also, part of the glass flooring in front of the entrance is in need of non-slippery strips as when wet with dew or rain is dangerous to step on.
Finally have a look at the photos – these are the public conveniences complementing an EU project which I am certain EU experts did not notice.
It goes without saying that spending all that money without allocating some funds to renovate the latrines does not leave a good impression at all.
