Recently I complained to Liquigas about a 12kg gas cylinder which started to leak immediately the regulator was applied to it. I requested an immediate replacement or an immediate solution to the problem.  I was informed that I could exchange the faulty cylinder myself at their bottling plant at Birzebbuga or ask the gas distributer in my area for a replacement.  No other service is available.

I experienced this same problem some years ago when Enemalta was then responsible for the distribution of gas. The matter was solved within less than 30 minutes when an emergency team called at my residence and replaced a worn out rubber washer from the cylinder’s valve.

Today this service is no longer available and Liquigas customers have no choice but to wait or beg for providence when a third spare gas cylinder is unavailable. The old and the infirm must likewise enjoy the same service provided by Liquigas.

Incidentally my faulty gas cylinder was replaced about six hours after I had lodged my complaint as luckily it was a gas distribution day in my locality, otherwise I would have had to wait for days.  I have now made it a point to check my gas cylinder immediately upon delivery. The authorities should immediately see to this shortcoming by Liquigas.
