I am more than sure that the long-suffering residents of Triq il-Gladjoli in San Ġwann are very pleased about the forthcoming government’s White Paper on neighbourhood noise prevention. For years we have been complaining about the clopping of horses passing up and down our street at the unearthly hour of 4.30 or 5 a.m.
Residents of other streets in our vicinity must have been through the same bad experience. But no action was ever taken by the competent authorities and no Noise Abatement Society ever took any note of our letters.
We feel that these horses have been both a health and environmental hazard long enough.
We now hope that the proposed Noise Control Board will heed our just complaint and take immediate action.
