Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri told reporters yesterday that his rapport with Alexandre Pato was perfect and no problems exist des-pite the striker putting a doubt on his future at the San Siro following an interview last week.

Pato was quoted as saying that not all was well with Allegri and his outburst then led to reports that ambitious Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain were lining up a €50 million offer for the Brazil inter-national.

However, speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Allegri has maintained that the working relationship between the two is just fine.

“There is no problem between Pato and myself,” he said.

“Pato’s outburst was just down to a moment of frustration. You can’t always start every game, but this is not a serious issue and these things do happen from time to time.

“There are no problems and there wasn’t even a clear-the-air talk between us because there was no need for discussion.

“He is training hard and not giving signs of unhappiness.”

Pato, 22, has scored just one goal in eight Serie A appearances so far this season.

Turning to the scudetto race, Allegri, currently conducting a winter training camp in Dubai, said he was optimistic that the reigning champions could beat joint-leaders Juventus to the title this term.

“We do not fear them,” Allegri said.

“Juventus remain a great club with great history but at present Milan have all that is needed to win the league title.”
