Three of Malta’s leading techno producers will be getting together for an exclusive analogue-meets-digital event on Saturday night. The triple techno tre at, which will take place at Liquid Club in San Ġwann, will feature live sets from N.D (Trivmvirate, Sonntag Morgen, Pinkpube), Sonitus Eco (Silent Season, Evasion Room, Pinkpube) and Acidulant (Plus Tokyo, Cannibald, Pinkpube), all well-established names in the world of electronic music and with numerous acclaimed releases to their name.

Rather than a party, the concept behind the event is to showcase local talent; a reminder that while the electronic scene in Malta tends to be dominated by foreign acts, there are plenty of local acts that deserve more than off-peak slots to perform their music.

A combined effort by the three featured artists themselves, this techno event is self-financed, self-organised and self-promoted; a bold step that may well lead to similar events in the future if proven to be successful.

“Hopefully, it will also lead to the formation of an agency,” said Sonitus Eco. “One that treats local producers with the respect, remuneration and recognition they truly deserve.”

All three acts will be playing live on a combination of analogue synthesisers, drum machines, laptops and vinyl, performing tracks from the various releases they put out this past year.

“The strange thing is that our music does actually get recognition from foreign artists but relatively little support from the Maltese crowd,” Sonitus Eco said.

Entrance to the event is €5. For more information, look up the Sonitus Eco/N.D/Acidulant Live event page on Facebook.
