The search for two French tourists who were lost at sea off Gozo on Sunday night continued yesterday, a spokesman for the Armed Forces of Malta said.

The two are 14-year-old Dani Chmouni and his father’s friend, Philippe Grimaud. They formed part of a group of five French tourists reported missing by Skipper Juan Carlo Montes on Monday afternoon.

The search, which also involves a helicopter, was expected to continue today. Sandrine Godet and Marie Grimaud’s bodies were found at Fomm Ir-Riħ on Tuesday. A third corpse was recovered on Wednesday off the south coast of Comino. The police confirmed it was Elias Chmouni, the missing boy’s father.

Mr Chmouni and Ms Godet, who were married, were on a four-metre boat with the Grimauds and the boy when they went missing. They were returning to Mr Chmouni’s yacht the El Pirata, berthed off Dwejra, after having dinner in Xlendi.
