When the developers of Fort Cambridge first applied to build their apartment blocks and were falling over themselves to be nice to us, they promised that the fort itself would be renovated (it is a protected building) and that part of the development would consist of public gardens.

Ten years on, not only is the fort and officers’ quarters in a much worse state than it has ever been, but there are precious little signs of the much heralded public gardens.

Is it too much to hope that someone in authority steps on the developers’ toes a bit, in order to get things moving?

At this stage of the game we would hope that the agreements made will be honoured, in full.
