Parliamentary Secretary Michael Falzon confirmed that a jumbo screen installed outside the Super One build-ing in Marsa was not covered by a Mepa permit and a decision was pending on a sanctioning application.

Answering Opposition questions, Dr Falzon said as an application to sanction had been filed, Mepa could not take enforcement action yet. He was asked whether that meant one could install a jumbo screen and make money from it, with Mepa unable to act.

Claudette Buttigieg asked whether action would have been taken had she set up a jumbo screen without a permit, instead of the Labour Party or Super One.

Dr Falzon said this was not an issue about the PL because there were many jumbo screens belonging to different owners, even in Marsa itself.

He again quoted the law and said an application to sanction had been filed.
