France full-back Patrice Evra pulled no punches following the shock 1-0 defeat to Albania at the Elbasan Arena on Saturday.

Ergys Kace scored the only goal of the game just before half-time as France suffered their second loss inside a week, following their 4-3 reverse to Belgium yesterday week in a match where they trailed 4-1 before scoring two late goals.

The latest setback, Les Bleus’ third defeat in four matches, has drawn the ire of Juventus left-back Evra, who blasted some members of the team’s desire to compete on the international stage.

“Sometimes I think we do not realise how lucky we are,” the former Manchester United player said in quotes to L’Equipe.

“How many players would dream to be in our place? People will say it’s because it was hot, because it was in Albania, but it’s a lack of respect against the jersey of the France team. You cannot make excuses like that.”
