It would be “superfluous” to postpone the decision on the apartments planned for the former Mistra Village until the new policy regulating high-rise buildings is approved, according to the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.
The new policy would not have any bearing on the full development application because 2008 planning parameters applied, the authority said in reaction to comments made by environmental organisation Din L-Art Ħelwa.
Mepa said the full development application must be assessed against the planning parameters established in the outline development permit.
On Saturday the NGO questioned how the application for high-rise apartments at Mistra could be considered on October 31 when a new policy to regulate such buildings had just been launched for consultation.
